working from your heartIf you want to live a successful and happy life you have to act much more with your heart than you are used to do. We have to give our ratio the place it deserves and that is working in good harmony with the heart.

Working from the heart

There are always consequences associated with our actions. Every action we perform has consequences. This applies even more if we work from our hearts. So if we follow our hearts, it also has consequences. I write this not because we must restrain from working from our heart, but I write this because we can anticipate. In contact with others our ego is always very busy. The ego is sneaky trying to continually seek confirmation and continuously works to ensure that we do not feel rejected. In this blog I will elaborate on the (a) social aspect of our ego. Continue reading »

In the movie Runaway Bride, Julia Roberts plays a woman (Maggie Carpenter) who is notorious for leaving grooms at the altar. It’s a romantic comedy about doubt. This movie inspired me to write a blog about doubt.

Doubt is something that everyone is suffering from. Doubt hinders our personal growth. Therefore it is important to know what we can do about doubt it. How it can hinders us less. Continue reading »

In our present life, events switch faster and faster. Everything happens faster. And before we know, time controls us. We do not control time anymore. We loose our master-ship over time. Because there is always so much happening and we have the perception that we have less and less time, we are in the reactive mode. It seems we have lost the ability to think before we act. Continue reading »

Last month I spent in retreat. A retreat means that you withdraw for (spiritual) self examination and spiritual exercise. I did this with a group of people who are inspired by the wisdom of Dzogchen.  I try to do this every year. For me it is a very good way to spent my holiday. During this retreat I became aware once again how important values are. How valuable a value is. In both types of organisations the people make the difference. Proper deployment of human capital is essential in creating a successful company. Continue reading »

In a previous blog with the title, “what drives you today?” I pointed out that our emotions are a key driver in our choices. Click here if you want to go to this blog entry.
In that article, I describe that many of our actions arise from our emotions.
If we would better understand our emotions, then these emotions have less grip on us.
And the opposite is also true. As long as the emotions have a major grip on us, we did not get the message yet. Continue reading »

Sometimes we tend to blame others for personal matters. Matters that do not go that well. We think of excuses or apologies. These excuses and apologies often focus on the other. Although we know that it is not appropriate and true. Continue reading »

I am different. That’s what I’ve experienced and heard all my life. I think differently, I do things differently; I find other things important and so on. I can only be considered differently because there are people who have a different idea how I should behave. Apparently there is a standard norm. Continue reading »

We all have to face adversity. So, recently a friend of mine has been fired. And he did not expect it at all! A considerable setback. And especially in this time where it is hard to find a job.
It’s quite an art in itself to deal with setbacks. Past few years I too have experienced many setbacks. It were heavy setbacks, but at the same time they have given me strength. Continue reading »
